Peter Aldana, Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder
Peter Aldana was elected as the Assessor - County Clerk - Recorder for Riverside County in June of 2014 and re-elected in 2019. Mr. Aldana has been with the office for over 25 years in a variety of appraisal, supervisory, and management positions. Mr. Aldana is a life-long resident of Riverside County. He earned his B.A. from California State University Fullerton, and his M.A. from Azusa Pacific University. He is a member of the California Assessors’ Association, the County Recorder’s Association of California, International Association of Assessing Officers, and the Appraisal Institute. He is also a member of the Inland Empire Hispanic Leadership Council.
Kan Wang, Assistant Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder
Kan Wang graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree in 2010 from California State University Pomona, a Master of Science degree in Applied Computer Science from Azusa Pacific University in 2003, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics with concentration in Management Information Systems in 1997. Starting in the information technology field as a developer he reached the level of senior management and management consultant working in industries as diverse as e-learning, e-commerce, manufacturing, and county government. Kan joined the County of Riverside Department of Public Social Services in 2007 as Information Technology Officer I. He accepted the Property Tax System Information Technology Officer position in 2012 and since then has been part of the ACR Executive Management Team.

Zhumei Qian, Information Technology Officer I
Zhumei Qian has a Ph.D. in GIS and a M.S. and B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning. Zhumei worked as a GIS Manager in South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control for 4 years and worked as a Senior Software Engineer. She then made her way to Senior Project Manager at Esri, dedicating 14 years there before joining the ACR Team in 2015 as an I.T. Officer I. She currently leads ACR’s Application Development and GIS teams.

Andrew Ellingwood, Business Process Manager
Andrew Ellingwood began his career with the County of Riverside in 2007 as an Auditor-Appraiser in the Business Personal Property Division. He assumed an increasing number of responsibilities during the four years in this position. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Southern Chapter of the Society of Auditor-Appraisers. In 2011, Andrew joined the County of Riverside Enterprise Solutions for Property Taxation (CREST) Project where he assisted with the development of several Aumentum Technology modules. After Aumentum go-live, Andrew joined the Assessor’s Process Optimization and Innovation Team (POINT) to provide system support to valuation staff. He is now a Business Process Manager in the Clerk-Recorder’s office and leads Support, Process Improvement, Training and Legislation teams.
Andrew received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of California, Riverside in 2005. He later earned a Master of Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino in 2013.

Scott Thornberry has been with the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office for more than 25 years. He is the Assistant Assessor of Operations and is additionally responsible for the implementation of the Assessor Modernization Project (AMP), the project to replace the Department’s aging legacy systems.
Prior to this assignment, Scott has served in a variety of roles. This includes Director of Operations of the Roll Services Subdepartment, Chief Appraiser of the Business Solutions Group, Manager of the IT Division’s Project Management Section, Special Assistant / technology consultant for the Executive Office, Principal Appraiser of the Special Projects Unit, Supervising Appraiser in Region 28 – Special Commercial Properties, Prop 8 (Decline-in-Value) Project Coordinator, and as an appraiser in the Norwalk Regional Office.
Before his life in property tax assessment, he was a high school teacher, working with teenagers who were experiencing difficulties staying in the mainstream K-12 school systems. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and Linguistics from California State University at Fullerton. Scott, whose eldest son has Down Syndrome, is active in the Special Needs community. He currently lives in Chino, CA, with his wife and two sons.

Stephen Brozovich - Principal Evangelist started his career at Amazon in 1999 as a web developer, and for the next thirteen years held technical roles that allowed him to observe the organizational patterns that accompanied Amazon’s growth and technical evolution. In 2012 he moved to HR to lead the Amazon Culture Program, charged with ensuring Amazon is still the most innovative, customer-obsessed company on the planet. Following a one year rotation with Amazon’s Executive Development team and two years running Talent Management for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Stephen returned to his focus on culture as a Principal Evangelist for AWS HR in 2019. His mission is to help AWS customers unlock innovation and invention within their own organizations.
Stephen lives in Kent, WA with his wife, Cheryl, and three kids - Evan (22), Ariana (18), and Andrew (16). When not working or hanging out with his family, Stephen enjoys singing choral music with Opus7 (www.opus7.org) and building electric bass guitars (www.brozovich.guitars). Stephen got his B.A. in vocal performance from Biola University, where he learned how to sing French art songs with a Mexican accent.

Marc Pajarillo is a Senior Director with Gartner Consulting, and leads the Digital Talent and Organization Practice for the West region. He has over 20 years of experience designing and implementing organizational, change and talent strategies for a wide range of industries: Government, Financial Services, High-Tech & Telecom Providers (HTTP), Higher Education, Retail, Biotechnology and Nonprofit. Mr. Pajarillo also has extensive experience leading the Organizational Change Management (OCM) workstreams in support of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations and helping organizations realize their Future of Work aspirations.

Suzanne Adnams is a Vice President, Analyst with Gartner Research, working on the CIO Leadership, Culture and People team. Ms. Adnams provides research, insights, advice and support for IT executives related to navigating the changing workplace experience as well as developing leadership skills, leading change in their organizations and understanding culture. Suzanne has been working in IT since 1980, and has been in government and higher education management and executive roles since the mid 1990s, including a CIO role. As a consultant following the CIO role, Suzanne worked with executive clients on IT strategy and planning, best practices, organizational design and change management, with a focus on governance, IT service management and project management.

Ann Kurz is the VP of Sales & Marketing for Aumentum Technologies. Ann leads the Sales & Account Management Teams, Marketing Team and Technical Sales Team and is responsible for all our domestic and international pursuits including new sales, upgrades and add-on solutions for existing clients. In addition, Ann leads her team to be customer advocates – focusing on satisfaction and retention of our significant client base. Prior to this position, Ann was the Head of Sales for Thomson Reuters, Government, and held other roles at Thomson Reuters since 2012.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, she was with Xerox Global Services working with global firms as a Global Account General Manager. Overall, she has over a decade of sales leadership experience and more than two decades leading conversations with executives. Among Ann’s greatest achievements is having established a cadence for customer engagement, collaborating closely with our Customer Operations, to ensure high customer satisfaction levels.

Scot Crismon is the Executive Vice President of Aumentum Technologies and has held this position since Thomson Reuters sold their government business to Harris Computer Corporation in November, 2019. While at Thomson Reuters, Mr. Crismon provided important leadership in the corporation’s transition to an enterprise technology organization by serving as the Chief Technology Officer for the Tax & Accounting business unit. Later he was assigned to work as the Vice President of Technology overseeing the government segment and tasked with various technology transformation initiatives for Aumentum and other property tax products.
Prior to his CTO role, Mr. Crismon provided leadership in the Tax & Accounting corporate tax suite strategy (branded ONESOURCE), and led initiatives in the area of product platforms, corporate workflow engines, data center strategy, SaaS and public cloud.
Prior to Thomson Reuters, Mr. Crismon was Vice President of Technology for ePropertyTax, an award-winning a provider of SaaS corporate property tax solutions which was eventually acquired by Thomson Reuters and became a part of the ONESOURCE suite of products. He currently holds a patent for the multi-jurisdictional rules engine of ONESOURCE Property Tax.
Gary Varma is President and CEO of Brainsharp Inc. Gary has a Doctorate Degree from Iowa State University and has over 32 years of experience in software systems architecture, design, development, implementation, training, technical leadership and software development life cycle.
Gary’s technical expertise includes the areas of distributed multi-tiered enterprise systems, object oriented design methodologies, enterprise application integration, information management systems, web, OLTP, eBusiness and eCommerce applications.
Gary founded Brainsharp Inc. in 2001, headquartered in Orange, California and has been serving as its President and CEO since then. Prior to that, he was a software development manager at Invensys where he designed, developed and managed software applications for process automation in the Oil and Gas industry.

Sheela Reddy graduated with a Masters of Computer Applications, and joined Megabyte Systems Inc. as a software engineer in 1998. Over the course of her 23 years at Megabyte Systems, she has served in the position of Chief Operating Officer, and currently serves as Megabyte’s Chief Technology Officer and Executive Board Member. Her leadership and extensive knowledge of the California Property Tax System have been instrumental in company expansion, system development, and 26 new county conversions. Sheela is a proud resident of Corona, California.

Born and raised in Merced, CA. Graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in Dairy Science. Basically, he went to work for Merced County Assessor’s Office after graduation. He started pre-Prop 13 going door to door reappraising rural property. Gradually he rose through the ranks doing Ag and Commercial/industrial work. Kent became Chief appraiser in 1997 and was elected to the position of Assessor in 2006 taking office in 2007. He was Assessor for 6 years before retiring. During that time, he was also appointed to be the Recorder and later appointed to be the Clerk and Registrar of Voters. Kent ended his 36-year career with Merced County in 2012.
Upon retirement Kent went to work for Megabyte Systems as a consultant. He deals with real property appraisals and Williamson Act properties. Kent has been involved with many conversions and additionally teaches 2 training classes during the year.
Vasuki Iyengar is Managing Director of Brainsharp Inc. Vasuki has a Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and 30 years of product development and operations experience in software and technology services.
Vasuki has extensive leadership experience in small and large company environments in the healthcare, telecommunications, large enterprise, government, and financial services market place. He has held senior management positions at various companies including Black Knight Financial Services, V-Tek Systems, and Unisys Corporation.
